Sync Creative Internship, SoundSync Music

Job brief
SoundSync Music, an On Vinyl Media Group company, is seeking highly motivated candidates for its music licensing internship (15-20 hours/week). 

Compensation: Internship Credit only

Interns should expect to:

• learn more about the company and receive training on our mission and core values as well as ethics and equity training
• receive adequate training on the mechanics and basic functions of the music industry from a broad perspective
• learn the fundamentals of copyright, metadata, publishing, music supervision, and music licensing
• have the opportunity to pitch music from SoundSync's catalog to music supervisors
• learn how to navigate SoundSync's catalog and work within music metadata
• curate and create samplers/playlists for clients
• interface with artists on SoundSync's roster and scout for local talent to add to our catalog
• research opportunities for their assigned artist roster by familiarizing themselves with the works of music supervisors

Candidates must:

• be proactive and self-guided workers, ask the right questions at the right times
• stay in touch with pop culture, media, and content
• have above-average research skills
• display a high attention to detail and critical thinking skills
• be able to learn and work quickly without much supervision
• be disciplined enough to work remotely
• thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous startup environment
• be proficient in business communication skills; and
• be talented in creative writing.

Plus if:

• you are familiar with the Austin or Texas music industry and local artists
• you are passionate about TV, film, and music

Preferred experience:

• previous music industry experience (other internships, A&R work, independent work, etc.)
• relevant coursework or education (RTF, music business, digital media management, marketing, business development, etc.)
• have taken any sync- or music licensing-related coursework in the past
